Anisha and the Inbetween

Animated Feature Screenplay - Writer, Director

"Anisha & The Inbetween" explores the complexity of immigrant identity through the lens of a young Indian artist navigating between creative ambition and familial duty in America.

Set against the backdrop of shifting immigration policies and digital connectivity, the story uses the metaphor of "the Inbetween"—a transformative space where cultures, generations, and value systems intersect—to examine how we can maintain authentic relationships and personal truth while bridging seemingly incompatible worlds.

The film employs a layered visual approach: the outer world uses rotoscoping to capture the surreal quality of immigrant life, while the "Inbetween" features stylized 2D animation reflecting Anisha's dynamic inner experiences. The visual design evolves from distinct aesthetics for each location (Los Angeles, New Delhi, Copenhagen, and the Inbetween) to a harmonious blend, mirroring Anisha's journey toward integrating her multiple identities.
