Teaching

Teaching and mentorship are a fundamental part of my creative practice.

It allows me to be a lifelong student while teaching emerging artists to navigate the changing trends in the creative industry, all while supporting and nurturing their artistic voices. Here are some of the courses and workshops I teach as well as brief overviews of talks and guest lectures.

Visual Communications - AWC Fellowship

Visual Communications is a pioneering Asian American media arts organization that runs the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and other cultural preservation initiatives. Through their Armed With a Camera (AWC) Fellowship, they support emerging Asian American & Pacific Islander media artists in creating socially conscious work.

Recent fellowship themes have focused on community care during COVID-19, uplifting Indigenous storytellers, and re-envisioning our collective future. As a mentor in the program, I guide fellows through their creative process, helping them develop their artistic voice while creating short films that engage with pressing socio-political themes
