Creatures of Chaos

Animated Short - Writer, Director, Co-Producer

When emotional turmoil takes physical form, four strangers learn their new companions refuse to stay hidden.

Creatures of Chaos is a mixed-media animated short that explores the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly in Indian society. We were inspired by candid conversations with family and friends in India and felt compelled to create a story that confronts how mental health challenges are often dismissed and suppressed. Through animation, it sheds light on these hidden struggles and aims to spark honest dialogue about emotional wellbeing and the importance of community.

The narrative weaves together the lives of four distinct characters, each grappling with their own psychological battles. Through their interconnected stories, we watch the characters struggle with depression, anxiety, fear and loneliness.

These internal struggles manifest physically as creatures. As the challenges are ignored, hidden, or suppressed, the creatures grow and evolve into wilder versions of themselves - making their presence impossible to ignore.
